Azerbaijani scientist delivered a paper on a new molecular biotechnology

International conference on "Plant-Based Vaccines, Antibiotics and Biology" which was held in Riga on June 10-12.

At the event, which was attended by scientists from the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, Norway, Turkey and South Korea, our country was represented by corresponding member of ANAS Tarlan Mammadov. He delivered a paper on "Aberrant N-glycosylation of recombinant proteins in eukaryotic expression system: How the problem is solved".

Professor Tarlan Mammadov informed on a new molecular biotechnology, which he invented for the synthesis of vaccines and therapeutic proteins, about the broad areas of application and economic opportunities.

The report caused great interest among many companies involved in the synthesis of recombinant proteins and plant expression systems (“Protalix”, “KBP Kentucky BioProsessing”, “Medicago”, “BioVaxx INC”, “Bioapp”, “Nomad Bioscience GmbH”, “Owensboro”, “Intrucept Biomedicine LLC”, “Icon Genetics GmbH”, “AeroFarms”, “Bayer AG”).

The honorary Professor of Akdeniz University, Turkey Tarlan Mammadov is one of the prominent scientists in the field of molecular biology. The main directions of his research are the creation of technology for the expression and production of recombinant proteins using the plant expression system, one of the most important areas of molecular biotechnology. For the first time, a scientist has developed technology technology expression systems, providing protein synthesis without glucan in eukaryotic, including plant, systems.
