Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbeyli met with the Chinese professors who are on a visit to Azerbaijan on the sideline of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue held in Baku.

Dai Jianbing, Dean of Hebei Institute of Ethnic Studies, Peng Feng, Dean of the School of Arts, Peking University, Zhou Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation participated at the meeting.   

Isa Habibbeyli, the academician made a speech at the meeting held at the Presidium building of ANAS. He spoke about the Azerbaijan-China relations and rapid development of the relations between the two countries.  

The academician underscored that Azerbaijan and China are important economic partners and are closely cooperating within the ‘One Belt, One Road’ project as well as East-West, North-South international transport corridors.

The president of ANAS also noted that both countries have close cooperation relations in the scientific-cultural sphere as well and underlined that the Chinese Cultural Center is functioning in the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi and coordinator of the center

Nargiz Karimova wrote a Ph.D. dissertation on “archetypes in Chinese literature” and Chinese language is taught at the institute. İsa Habibbeyli, the academician emphasized that ANAS is interested in the development of the relations with the institutions they represent.

The guests making a speech at the meeting gave comprehensive information about the institutions they represent and underscored the importance of the development of the relations with ANAS.

Dai Jianbing, Dean of Hebei Institute of Ethnic Studies invited Isa Habibbeyli, the academician to the international scientific conference themed “through the Caspian Sea to China: literature, technology and social life” to be held in China in June.

Later an exchange of views on mutual interest and cooperation opportunities was discussed.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli presented the books to the guests on the history of Azerbaijan, Shusha city, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Nizami Ganjavi in English and Russian.

The Chinese guests got acquainted with the historical building of the Presidium of ANAS.
