Cooperation between the Institute of Erosion and Irrigation ANAS and Institute of Technology and Science in Poland enhances

The meeting was attended by head of the department of the Institute of Technology and Science Piorkovski Hubert, leading expert Marek Richarski, technology specialist GİS Psemek Godzinski, as well as the first secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Azerbaijan Carol Kumalski and staff of the institute.

During the meeting G. Piorkovski spoke about the relations of cooperation between the two institutions which were established in 2008. According to him, the purpose of the meeting is to support domestic professionals working in other countries, technology transfer, at the same time, the expansion of cooperation between the different countries.

G. Piorkovski noted that the first project was implemented in 2009, in which the Azerbaijani specialists participated in training courses in Poland. In training, professionals have been vaccinated skills with computer software and geographic information systems.

The guest said that in 2011, at the Institute of Erosion and Irrigation of ANAS was established laboratory for the application of geographical information systems, and in the same year in Shamakha, Agsu and Ismayilli were carried out relevant studies.

Within the framework of projects in the last 2 years for the northern and north-eastern areas of Azerbaijan, a special support system has been esatblished. During these two years with the direct participation of Azerbaijani specialists for 16 regions of Azerbaijan was established, information base, date and potential erosion risk models have been developed for the 3 regions and was found that a small portion Aghsu is under threat of landslides.

K. Kumalski praised realized work and noted that due to grant projects in Poland there is an opportunity to continue their cooperation.

Director of the Institute PhD in agrarian sciences Seymur Safarli said that the project was implemented with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, and later should expand cooperation between the two countries.
