Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The 31st International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) kicked off in Baku. Baku Congress Center will be held the official opening ceremony of the 31st International Olympiad in Informatics today.

One of the most prestigious competitions held since 1989, the International Olympiad in Informatics is an annual chance to demonstrate the knowledge and skill of schoolchildren from many countries around the world.

Over 600 schoolchildren, tutors and experts from 88 countries and regions have been officially registered to participate in the Olympiad to be held in Azerbaijan for the first time.

Azerbaijan teams representing the country 24 times in this prestigious international competition have won 5 medals, including one silver and four bronze.

The International Olympiad in Informatics supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ADA University, Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other government agencies.

Olympiad will last til August 11.
