The Hungary Embassy to Azerbaijan by support of ANAS Central Scientific Library held a meeting with Azerbaijani students who won the Hungaricum scholarship programme.

The event was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan, Victor Sederkenyi, cultural and educational Attache of the embassy Mihaly Gruber and students.

The event provided extensive information on the Hungaricum scholarship program. It was informed that thousands of students apply for higher education in Hungary every year, and more than 5,000 students will be entitled to study in Hungary during the 2019/2020 academic year under the Stipendium Hungaricum program.

The Hungaricum scholarship program was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian government. During the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Hungary in 2014 was signed an agreement between Azerbaijan and Hungary and the program began work in 2015. The Stipendium Hungaricum program annually provides 200 scholarships to Azerbaijani students at the expense of the Hungarian government.

At this event, it was recommended to hold meetings with members of the Hungarian Youth Union that fellows and other students could learn more about their lifestyle in Hungary. The meeting also discussed the activities of Azerbaijani student communities in Hungary.
