Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Director of the Russian company “VELES Capital” Aleksei Gnedovski, employee of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, gun specialist Yelena Tikhomirova and collector, military historian Dmitry Klochkov visited the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS.

The aim was to familiarize with the gun collection of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History for the exhibition "Empire and the Caucasus", which will be held in Moscow on January 29 - March 29, 2020, on the initiative of “VELES Capital”. One of the main directions of the exhibition is the guns of Caucasus, which were used in the early 19th and 20th centuries.

Russian guests first met with Naila Valikhanli, director of the museum. She gave them detailed information about the museum's collection of guns and historical guns. The meeting focused on the expansion of Azerbaijani-Russian cultural relations.

Later, the guests visited the memorial museum of H.Z. Tagiyev. Home items and historical documents here have made a great impression on them.

The Russian guests also got acquainted with the materials of the Museum's Arms and Flags Fund. They were informed about the museum's collection of guns and flags.
