ANAS and Montpelier University of France expands the cooperation

The Presidium of ANAS has hosted for a meeting of representatives of the French University of Montpelier (Université de Montpellier), Professor François Henn and young researcher Adrian Novri. The main purpose of the meeting was to exchange views on the development of existing cooperation between the two organizations.

President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh welcomed the guests and said he was pleased to see Professor F. Henn for the second time at the academy.

Noting that the existing cooperation with the French University of Montpelier is successfully continued, the scientist recalled the agreement signed last year with the participation of ANAS and this university. He underlined that a joint doctoral program was implemented within the framework of the cooperation agreement and effective staff exchange and experience between the two institutions was carried out.

Akif Alizadeh said that the integration of the international society in the modern world is one of the main goals of the academy and highly appreciated the scientific relations with France: “The signed agreement on joint research and doctoral training will allow establishing ties with other relevant institutes of ANAS and implementation of joint projects.”

Then, A. Alizadeh told about the work done in the laboratory of the Institute of Physics of ANAS and research in priority directions. He said that participation in grant projects jointly with the staff of the Institute of Physics will contribute to the achievement of serious scientific achievements at both ANAS and the University of Montpelier.

The President of ANAS informed about the mud volcanoes, Gobustan rocks and other historical sites in our country and invited the guests to get acquainted with these places.

Noting the historical importance of the meeting with his French counterparts, the scientist noted that it was necessary to sign an official protocol of research between the ANAS institutes and the University of Montpelier.

F. Henn invited the scientists and specialists of the Institute of Physics to attend in the scholarship programs at the University of Montpelier and benefit from the years of experience at this university.

He said that he also cooperates with the Azerbaijan-French University and will therefore visit our country more often.

Then, academician Nazim Mammadov, academician-secretary of the Division of Physical-Mathematical and Technical sciences  of ANAS, noted that researches were conducted in directions that meet the requirements of world science and significant progress was made in the development of physical science.

Vice-Presidents of ANAS, academicians Ibrahim Guliyev, Rasim Alguliyev, head of International Relations Office of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva and professor of ANAS Rasim Jabbarov also participated in the meeting.
