Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Presidium of ANAS held a meeting with the head of the Association of French-Azerbaijani Dialogue Gunel Safarova. The meeting was attended by ANAS First Vice President Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, ANAS Scientific Secretary Zarifa Aliyeva and other officials.

First, academician Ibrahim Guliyev shared his views on further strengthening ties with the diaspora of Azerbaijani scientists and the integration of Azerbaijani scientists living abroad in domestic science. It has been noted that for more than 5 years, in order to expand cooperation with the diaspora of Azerbaijani scientists, ANAS has been establishing ties with our compatriots, as well as heads of diaspora organizations in the CIS, Europe and the USA.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that joint research and close cooperation with our scientists living abroad are of great importance in terms of the integration of Azerbaijani scientists into world science and their participation in international grant projects.

The Charter of the organization of the scientific diaspora will be registered in March in accordance with French law. The first activity plan will be determined after consultation with members of the diaspora and ANAS. The first meeting of the center will be held with the participation of representatives of ANAS and the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.

In conclusion, proposals were put forward for conducting joint research in priority scientific fields with our scientists living in France and studying the scientific experience of this country. Appropriate decisions were made.
