General director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, academician Irada Huseynova and executive director, associate professor Alamdar Mammadov met with Abdul Qayyum and Allah Bakshi, employees of the Center of Excellence in Molecular Biology of Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan.

During the meeting, academician Irada Huseynova gave detailed information about the history of the institute headed by Pakistani scientists, scientific laboratories and their research directions, scientific work carried out here. It was noted that the cooperation between the institute and Pakistani scientists has more than 20 years of history. After giving detailed information about the infrastructure of the Center of Excellence in Molecular Biology, the research work carried out, the guests got acquainted with the laboratories of the institute and the existing material and technical base.

Then, the details of the joint project to create new stress-resistant wheat genotypes by molecular methods were discussed. At the same time, an exchange of views was held on the further expansion of cooperation between the two scientific centers, the training of joint projects and highly qualified young personnel in molecular biology, molecular biotechnology, population genomics and other areas.
