Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Professor Li Lei, member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Core Academy of the People’s Republic of China, Executive (Vice) Secretariat-General, Professor Raymond J. Wu and the Academy’s scientific staff members Feng Liu and Yan Zheng, who are on a visit to our country, visited the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS.

Oruc Guliyev, deputy director of the library gave detailed information to the guests about the activities of the CSL. He said that the CSL currently cooperates with 127 organizations from 46 countries, 80 scientific journals, several embassies in our country and embassies of Azerbaijan abroad. Emphasizing the importance of cooperation with the National Library of China, he also mentioned the significance of sending electronic versions of literature and resources to the CSL. 

The Chinese scientists then got acquainted with the collections and electronic library of the Central Scientific Library and viewed the exhibitions. They showed interest in the fact that the oldest book copy from the 16th century in Azerbaijani libraries is preserved here, along with other historical publications, including literature in Chinese.
