Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The next meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS was held. The event was opened by the first vice-president of ANAS, director of the institute academician Isa Habibbayli, who brought to the attention the agenda.

During the event, Azer Turan, editor-in-chief of the “Literature Newspaper”, PhD in Philology, was awarded the Diploma of the Institute “Scientist of the Year” for his effective work in the field of literary criticism in 2019.

Academician Isa Habibbayli provided information about Azer Turan's versatile activities and spoke about his role in the development of Azerbaijani science, literature and literary-public opinion, as well as in the study of founders of Azerbaijani romance - Huseyn Javid creativity and Javid’s family. A.Turan also made important services in the study of Alibey Huseynzadeh's activities and merits, including development of the “Literature Newspaper”, which is the editor-in-chief.

Then, Shukufa Valiyeva, Gulnar Ganbarova and Elkhan Najafov were handed diplomas "Young Scientist of the Year". In addition, the staff of the Institute - corresponding member of ANAS Tehran Mustafayev and PhD Lutviyya Askerzadeh was awarded on the occasion of 60th and Musa Mammadov's 80th anniversaries of birth.

The tasks stemming out from the Presidential Order "Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev" and the Action Plan in pursuant to the Decree "On celebrating the 150th anniversary of Nariman Narimanov" were discussed at the event.

The publication of the journal "Comparative Literature" devoted to Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan literary relations, the work done on the formation of the Institute's database in the National Information System "Scientific staff", doctoral dissertation for 2019 and the approval of its topics, as well as other issues have been scheduled at the meeting.
