Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A business meeting was held with the director of the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, Professor Ayten Mustafazade and the head of the Azerbaijan representative office of the International Organization for Migration, Vladimir Georgiev.

The meeting discussed current and promising areas of activity, issues of mutual cooperation.

Professor Aytan Mustafazadeh spoke about the main activities of the scientific institution headed by her and gave information about the scientific research carried out in the department on the rights and migration of foreigners.

In his speech, Vladimir Georgiev said that there are many refugees and migrants in Azerbaijan in connection with the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According to him, an international training center will be created in Azerbaijan on the basis of a new project of the International Organization for Migration. V. Georgiev expressed confidence that this project will be successful for the country.

The head department for the Rights and Migration of Foreigners of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, PhD in law Rasim Agasiev in his speech proposed to implement a joint project with the International Organization for Migration. He proposed to study the situation of migrants in the framework of the project and submit it to parliament as a bill.

The meeting discussed the extension of the document on cooperation between the two organizations and the addition of new paragraphs to the document.
