A young researcher at the Institute of Additive Chemistry received new results in the production of biodiesel from vegetable oils

Lala Mahmudova, researcher at the Laboratory of Fuel Additives at the Institute of Additive Chemistry of ANAS named after acad. Ali Guliyev, achieved important scientific results in the field of production of biodiesel from vegetable oils and the development of diesel fuel compositions.

In order to obtain high yield biodiesel from vegetable oils, a young researcher has developed environmentally friendly and high-quality fuel compositions with the synthesis of effective catalysts.

The goal was to develop fuel compositions based on biodiesel and traditional diesel fuel and to study the operational properties in the process of obtaining biodiesel from various vegetable oils.

The author noted that since the end of the 20th century, the search for alternative methods of obtaining fuel from non-oil products has expanded significantly. One of such alternative methods is the production of biodiesel from various vegetable oils (sunflower, corn, cottonseed, rapeseed, soybean, palm, canola). The synthesis and use of "green" catalysts in the process of producing biodiesel is one of the urgent problems of the modern era.

L. Mahmudova confirmed the novelty of the obtained scientific results with three patents.
