Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The director of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician Nazim Mammadov, director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), academician Viktor Matveev, First Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian FederationaAcademician Grigori Trubnikov, Director General of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan Ergazi Kenzhin visited the Center for Nuclear Medicine at the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the center and discuss cooperation opportunities.

The guests were greeted by the Director General of the National Oncology Center, academician Jamil Aliyev, and the director of the Center for Nuclear Medicine Fuad Novruzov, who gave the guests detailed information about the CNM. It was reported that the Nuclear Medicine Center, which plays an important role in the early detection of cancer, was established in 2016 and has experienced personnel trained abroad.

Academician V. Matveev, in turn, informed about the activities of the institution headed by him, international relations and ongoing research.

Finally, prospects for cooperation were discussed.
