Associate of the Institute of Botany of ANAS attended in the meeting of the Global Plant Initiative (GPI)

Institute of Botany of ANAS for the first time took part in the next meeting of the Global Plant Initiative (GPI) as a member. PhD student of the Institute of Botany of ANAS chairman of ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists Aida Dadashova was supported by Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (USA) in order to attend the VII General Meeting of the Global Plant Initiative (Panama), and delivered lecture on “Herbarium of the Institute of Botany of ANAS”.

It should be noted that the Global Plant Initiative (GPI) as international cooperation, covering 330 herbarium funds from 75 countries, creates an opportunity for digitization, centralization and management of herbarium specimens of higher and primitive plants, including fungi. With a view to joining the Institute of Botany of ANAS in GPI in 2014, has been signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Institute and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
