Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

In the city of Oxford, which is one of the leading scientific and educational centers in Europe and the world, the international conference “Science and education. Innovative models of development “and the Constituent Assembly of Oxford Academic Union were held.

In these prestigious international events our country has been represented by the Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, academician Rafael Huseynov.

The conference, which was attended by leading experts working in scientific and educational spheres in a number of leading universities and research institutions of the UK, USA, Canada, Italy, India, Russia, Turkey, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and other countries, were attended about 50 lectures, and exchange of views held on the raised issues.

Academician Rafael Huseynov, who has prepared several important reports on the problems of education in the Council of Europe in recent years, spoke on “Problems and prospects of scientific and educational integration in Europe”, which was met with great interest.

The conference, organized in the framework of the Summit on Science and Education leaders was held a signing ceremony of a memorandum in connection with the establishment of the Oxford Academic Union. One of those invited to the signing of the memorandum was an Azeribaijanian scientist Rafael Huseynov. Serving previously as the European Rectors’ Club, the international organization has been broadened and renewed staff, after signing a memorandum and has become the Oxford Academic Union.

Speaking at the ceremony the president of Club leaders of science and education, Professor Paul Briggs and President of the European Business Assembly, ProfessorJohn Netting appreciated the scientific activity of Academician Rafael Huseynov and proposed to elect him as a member of the newly established Academy.

Azerbaijani scholar elected member of the Academic Oxford Union, was awarded with a certificate, a badge and given personalized seal of belonging to Academy membership. Academician Rafael Huseynov simultaneously has been joined the group of experts committees of foreign languages and philology, philosophy and religion at Oxford Academic Union. Experts included in the committee will be to carry out reception at the academy for new members and conduct assessment of various studies in the future.

Election of Academician Rafael Huseynov the member of this authoritative international organization is the reaffirmation of growing authority of the Azerbaijan science in the international community.
