Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan has announced a contest “University grant.” The contest was announced in order to provide targeted financial support through grants to projects aimed at supporting a higher level of important scientific research carried out in a number of higher educational institutions of the republic.

In grant competitions held by the Fund involves scientists and specialists of ANAS, universities, research institutes operating under the ministries, government organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other structures associated with science. During the contest gives preference to grant projects represent time creative teams of scientists and experts representing these structures.

Educational institutions are taking quite an active part in the grant projects of Science Development Fund. Statistical analysis of the results of 17 competitions of various kinds, conducted in 2010-2014 at the organization of the Fund shows that 94 leaders of the winning grant projects (which is 29.84% of the total, and highlighted for their funding is 14.22% of the total) out of 315 represent 19 educational institutions (14 universities, 4 educational academy and lyceum 1).

Taking into account the effectiveness of funding of the researches through grants, was intended to conduct budgeted funds in the form of grants to the planned institutions.

Total funding of Science Development Fund is 910,000 AzN.

The Ministry of Education will provide organizational support for the contest.

Taking as a basis the results of examination of the competition in the first place will be funded projects submitted from universities listed below:

Azerbaijan State Oil Academy

Azerbaijan Medical University

Azerbaijan State Agricultural Academy

Azerbaijan State Economic University

Academy of Public Administration

Documents acceptance for participation in the competition is held from November 3 to December 3, and the results will be announced in the first quarter of 2015.
