The Algerian Ambassador to Azerbaijan visited the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS

On June 16, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to our country Salima Abdelhaq visited the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli of ANAS.

Meeting with the director of the institution, academician Teymur Karimli, the ambassador said he was aware of the large number of Arabic-language manuscripts and printed books in the rich treasury of the Institute of Manuscripts.

Then Teymur Karimli informed the guest about the activities of the company he heads. He said that more than 12,000 manuscripts preserved here contain valuable materials covering the history and geography of Arab countries.

Academician T.Kerimli said that many ancient and medieval Azerbaijani authors knew Arabic perfectly and created beautiful examples in this language.

The scientist noted institute of Manuscripts continued its activities online with scientific institutions of foreign countries during the pandemic. He said that the institute has prepared electronic catalogs, through which it cooperates with Jordan, Egypt, Syria and other Arab countries.

Finally, Salima Abdelhaq got acquainted with the exposition hall of the institute and wrote her heartfelt words in the book.
