One of the urgent problems of the modern period is the determination of methods for collecting, studying and rational use of the gene pool of wild and cultivated fruits and berries that grow on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The Laboratory of Fruits, Vegetables and Viticulture of the Institute of Bioresources of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS is conducting important scientific research aimed at studying and preserving the fruit and grape gene pool, which is the inexhaustible natural wealth of the autonomous republic, enriching it using the selective method, studying agricultural technology and identifying economically significant varieties with their subsequent use in production.
