Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An online meeting of the Scientific Council on Virology of the International Academy of Sciences (IAAS) was held.

Our country was represented by Tarlan Mammadov, head of the International Molecular Bioengineering Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS, professor of the Mediterranean University of Turkey, corresponding member of ANAS.

The meeting was opened by Alexander Kilchevski, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Then, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Belarusian State Medical University, Chief Specialist of Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Igor Karpov delivered a lecture on "Clinical aspects of COVID-19 in Belarus."

Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani scientist Tarlan Mammadov thanked the organizing committee for organizing the event.

Noting the importance of joint cooperation in the development of vaccines against the COVID-19 virus, Mammadov said that our country is always ready to cooperate in this field.

Finally, the Statute of the Scientific Council on Virology was approved.

It should be noted that the International Union of Academies of Sciences was established in 1993 in Kiev at the initiative of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the purpose of cooperation between the academies of sciences. The purpose of the IAAS Scientific Council on Virology is not only to organize and conduct bilateral research, but also to provide scientific expertise for the development of this field.
