Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The laboratory for the introduction and acclimatization of trees and shrubs of the Institute of Dendrology of ANAS conducts extensive research on the introduction, study of biological characteristics, adaptation to environmental factors and the use of the species Arbutus unedo L. and many new species of exotic plants based on landscape architecture.

According to the laboratory researcher Aynur Huseynova, this species has been included in the collection of plants of the Institute of Dendrology since 2017 and is being studied at the experimental field of the scientific institution. Cuttings were obtained from an older specimen, Arbutus unedo L., and seeds were obtained from the botanical gardens of the USA and Portugal.
