Employees of the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of ANAS are working on a project covering the topic of landscape planning, affecting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in quarantine conditions.
This project, titled "Study of changes in landscape cover in the metropolitan regions of Rome and Baku, based on remote sensing data and CIS" became the winner of the competition announced for 2020-2021 within the framework of the scientific cooperation program signed between ANAS and the Italian National Research Council. The main goal of the project is to compare changes in the landscape in different metropolitan regions.
The results of the project will allow studying changes in land cover, identifying critical areas, conducting detailed studies in a comparatively large-scale territory.
