Literary and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have further developed during the years of independence

First Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, Academician Isa Habibbayli spoke at the international online conference "Neutral Turkmenistan - UNESCO: historical and cultural international relations" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

In his speech, Academician Isa Habibbayli stressed that the foundation of multifaceted relations between our peoples was laid by the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. He said that mutual respect and trust between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov play an important role in the rapid development of our multifaceted relations.

Touching upon the history of scientific and literary relations, the academician said that the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi and the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Mahtimgulu of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan during the visit of President of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in 2019 can be considered an important achievement.
