Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of People's Artists Ogtay Sadigzadeh and Boyukagha Mirzazade was organized by the Department of Scientific-Mass Work and Education of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan of ANAS.

The event was attended by students of the Faculty of Art Science of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts.

Opening the meeting, the museum's specialist Ganira Gafarli informed about the presence of rare pearls of Azerbaijani artists in the fund of descriptive materials of her organization, which included works by Ogtay Sadigzadeh and Boyukaga Mirzazade.

Then the leading researcher of the museum, associate professor Bakhman Karimov informed about the fund of descriptive materials. He said that the museum's fund was established in 1925 on the basis of the Art Department. In 1926, the museum opened an art gallery and an exposition of Oriental art consisting of 675 works. At present, the museum's fund of descriptive materials preserves more than 1,000 paintings by well-known artists from Azerbaijan, Europe and Russia.
