Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An international online conference dedicated to the 685th anniversary of the great commander and statesman Amir Teymur was organized by the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

After the opening of the conference by the director of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Azamat Ziyo, the floor was given to the adviser of ANAS, academician Yagub Mahmudov. Y.Mahmudov spoke at the conference on "The great leader of world history Amir Teymur."

In his speech, the historian said that Amir Teymur and Yıldırım Bayezid, Uzun Hasan and Fatih Sultan Mehmet, Shah Ismail and Sultan Selim, Shah Tahmasib and Sultan Suleyman should not be confronted. Western diplomacy played an important role in this confrontation. At present, the historical figures of the Turkic world are degraded in the West, but such personalities as Alexander, Caesar and Napoleon are praised.

Y.Mahmudov's report was met with great interest and approval by the director of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Azamat Ziyo, Turkish professor Ahmet Simshirgil and other scientists. The importance of conducting joint scientific research was also stressed at the event.
