March 2, 2015 main building of ANAS hosted for international scientific conference entitled “Genocide in the memory of people” jointly organized by the Commission for the investigation of genocide against Azerbaijanis and Folklore Institute of ANAS.

In advance, in the foyer was demonstrated exhibition of paintings by employees of ANAS dedicated to genocides.

The event was opened by President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh, who told about the massacres committed by Armenians and the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide against our people, highlighted the importance of such events to expose Armenian falsifications. It was noted that the aim of the conference is to bring together scientists who research and study of the genocide committed against the Azerbaijani people throughout history, and bring their ideas to the Azerbaijani and world public opinion.

Giving information on the activities set up by the Presidium of ANAS on October 15, 2015 Commission for the investigation of genocide against Azerbaijanis, academician Akif Alizadeh informed about the implementation of targeted interventions to inform the world community about the realities of bloody crimes against our people.

The next speaker was the vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli who informed the participants about the work done in connection with investigations of genocide. It was noted that once again the fundamental study of the history of genocide against Azerbaijanis is one of the most important tasks of the humanities and social sciences. The establishment of the Commission for the investigation of genocide against Azerbaijanis is one of the important steps taken towards the realization of these objectives. I.Habibbeyli said that the policy of President Ilham Aliyev to prevent aggression of Armenia in general and strengthen further position of Azerbaijan in the information war is yielding positive results. Our country has brought to the world community the realities of this tragedy and reached the adoption of normative documents. Continuation of such work will lead to important results, including the ideological victory of Azerbaijan over Armenia.

Speaking at the event, the director of the Institute of Folklore, corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Imanov, told about the policy of genocide carried out by Armenians against our people about the massacre of our compatriots, repressions and deportations, which may have been subjected to.

In the event dean of Human and Peoples department at Ipek University of Turkey, Professor Kemal Chichek, associate of French Center for Austrian Studies France Maxim Heine, writer and publicist from Uzbekistan Shukhrat Salamov, who noted the importance of such events to expose Armenian falsifications and stressed the need to make this tragedy political - legal assessment at the international level.

The event continued its work in breakout sessions, in which papers were delivered “Genocide in 1905-ies in the memory of people and the historical sources”, “Establishment of the Azerbaijan People Republic and the Armenian-Turkish confrontation”, “Armenian-Ottoman relations and genocide”, “Mass massacre committed by Armenians in Urmia and Salmas”, “Sumgait events”, “Karabakh war and genocide”,"Khojaly”, etc.
