Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On March 27, corresponding member of ANAS, director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, ANAS Nakhchivan Department, outstanding turkologist Abulfaz Guliyev’s 65th anniversary was celebrated.

Abulfaz Guliyev was born in Nakhchivan city.

In 1966 he graduated from secondary school and entered to the Azerbaijan State University faculty of Philology.

In 1972, he was accepted as a junior researcher in newly formed Center for Science in the Nakhchivan.

In 1979, defended Ph.D thesis on “Finite forms of verb in ancient monuments of Turkic Orkhon-Yenisey (compared with Azerbaijan language)”, and defended doctoral thesis on “Lexical-semantic system of ancient Turkish onomastics” in 2003, has gained academic title of “Professor” in 2006.

In 2003, was appointed the director to the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, ANAS Nakhchivan Department created by the decree of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

In 2007 was elected corresponding member of ANAS.

In 2009, gained the title of “Honored Teacher”.

He is author of 30 books, more than 300 scientific articles.

We congratulate the prominent scientist on the occasion of 65th anniversary wish him long life, a robust health and further achievements in development of domestic science.
