Head of the laboratory of the Botanical Garden, Russian Academy of Sciences Vladivostok (Far Eastern) Evgeny Boltenkov, lab head of Dagestan Highland Botanical Garden of the Republic of Dagestan Ramadan Murtazaliyev visited the Institute of Botany.

Meeting held by participation of the director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS Valida Alizadeh guests stated that their visit aims to study initial spring flora and Iris kinds of some territorial zones of Great Caucasus.

Being acquainted with new successful outputs during the meeting, guests carried out appointment fulfillments in the Herbarium lab of the Institute of Botany and determined kinds of Iris species.  

Y. Boltenkov, R. Murtuzaliev and chief of Embryopyte department PhD in Biology Vugar Karimov were on bilateral expedition to north-east regions of Azerbaijan, especially Beshbarmag mountain, Khizi, Altiaghaj, Guba, Gusar and Khazmaz. While researches, new areal of the Allium specie for Azerbaijan and Gagea, Orchis, Coridalis and Linaria types for flora of the eastern Great Caucasus, as well as Guba geobotanical regions were determined. Almost 100 herbarium patterns belonging to gathered 60 plant species have been handed over to Herbarium Foundation of the institute.
