ANAS Institute of Oriental Studies after acad. Z.Bunyadov expands the international scientific relations and activity in the sphere of implementation of joint scientific projects with foreign scientific and educational institutions from year to year.

The contract signed with department of Erjiyes University, department of oriental languages of literature faculty is logical sequence of this activity. According to the contract of the party will investigate in common the act of genocide in the Southern Azerbaijan in 1918-1919.

The agreement was signed by director of ANAS Institute of Oriental Studies corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva and head of department of oriental languages of literature faculty, Erjiyes University, Prof. Dr. Goksel Turkoz.

The purpose of the "Act of Genocide in the Southern Azerbaijan (1918-1919)" project is identification in archival documents of Turkey and Iran of the crimes committed by Armenians against our people in the Southern Azerbaijan, their research and bringing to public attention.

Scientists-orientalists will conduct studies on the history of the settlement of Armenians in Iran, including the South Azerbaijan, their activities in the local economic and trade relations, the role of the missionary organizations in this regard, including the investigation of acts of genocide against our compatriots.

Also will be organized the scientific trips to Iran for activity of the Working group created within the project in the relevant archives and libraries.

The Working Group staff of the Institute of Oriental Studies include - head of the t "Southern Azerbaijan" department, PhD in history Samad Bayramzadeh and employees of the department from the University Erjiyes - Gafar Chakhmagli and Farman Ahmad Chalabi.
