Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Executive director of Science Development Foundation under AR President Elchin Babayev, Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation of Denmark, chairman of the "Rumudvalg" committee, head of Danish Astroseismology Center, Professor Jorgen Christensen-Dalsgaard and his wife Birte Christensen-Dalsqaard, Deputy Director of the National Library of Denmark, visited ANAS Central Scientific Library (CSL).

In the meeting director of CSL, PhD in medical sciences Leyla Imanova informed about activity and international ties of the organization led by her.

Then, guests got familiar with exhibition, reading halls and first gift book collection locating in the academicians’ hall, including received information on the establishment history of an academy, scientific-social activity of 15 former presidents of ANAS. Editions of notable representatives of world literature and Nobel Prize winners whose works have been translated into Azerbaijani, encyclopedias, and academic publications in various languages aroused interest on guests.

Danish guests were also familiar with scientific and historical editions, manuscripts, large scaled and miniature books at Rare and Eastern books foundations of the library. Chief department of Rare books foundation Gulara Khalafova informed them on kept editions here.

Meeting discussed mutual collaboration issues related in obtaining the data for “National digital database” and other proposals. B. Christensen-Dalsqaard stated her willingness for collaboration.

Guests highly appraised modern architectural style of new building of CSL as well.

In closing, L.Imanova donated books of Azerbaijan history to the guests.
