Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced the results of a comprehensive examination of projects for scientific research programs within framework of the grant competition announced in 2014.

The main purpose of financing this type of program projects submitted by ANAS and other institutions and organizations through large volume of grants (100 thousand. - 500 thousand manat) is to boost scientific activities of research institutions, offices, centers and other institutions, (in particular, interdisciplinary research) underpin research works carried out in various fields of science, update the modern material-technical providing meet with modern requirements, create conditions for the acquisition of competitive research results in the short term, establish modern scientific research teams, laboratories and centers (including international cooperation). In the projects, along with the financial and logistical support (instruments, devices and equipment) is provided training of researchers through the organization of business trips.

The main priorities of the competition – national ideology, multiculturalism and inter-civilization dialogue, high technology and materials with high properties, the formation and development of e-science, biophysics, biomedicine, molecular biology and biotechnology, genomics, molecular genetics, modern problems of medicine, pharmacy, geophysics and hydrology, study oil, petrochemicals, inorganic materials, agricultural research, soil science, food and other issues.

Among the complex research programs of the main grant competition in 2014, 14 projects have been announced as winners with a total funding of 4.2 million manats and approved by the relevant decision of the Board of Trustees of the Science Development Foundation.

The winning projects will be realized in the Institute of Physics, Radiation Problems, Information Technology, Geology and Geophysics, Botany, Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, Petrochemical Processes, Philosophy and Law, Experimental-industrial plant, as well as Baku State University, and National Oncology Center.

Besides, employees of these institutions scientists and specialists of the Institute of Physiology, Zoology, Chemistry additives, Azerbaijan Medical University, Azerbaijan Research Institution of Agriculture and Horticulture will participate in the implementation of multidisciplinary projects as well.
