Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The project submitted by employees of “Fundamental problems of biological productivity” department of ANAS Institute of Botany, within the program of “Strengthen the capacity of the Bio defense and Bio safety in South Caucasus and Central Asia” by United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute was considered successfully.

UNICRI and ANAS Institute of Botany has signed Memorandum of understanding for commence of project on topic “Molecular diagnostics of imported agricultural crops, various diseases of seeds and genetically modified products”.

Note that project manager is acad Jalal Aliyev.

Dr. Horst Stoebel and Odhran James McCarthy were on a trip to Baku in order to discuss issues related to the project November 26-27, 2013. During the visit, guests were closely got acquainted with investigations carried out in “Fundamental problems of biological productivity” department, modernized laboratories equipped via modern technologies and held discussions with projects attendees – corresponding member of ANAS Irada Huseynova, Dr. Biology prof.Saftar Suleymanov, PhD in biology A. Mammadov, young scientists – G.Sh. Balakishiyeva, N.F. Sultanova, young researchers – G.F. Kamilova, L.R.Khankishiyeva.

The guests also met director of the institute Dr. Biology prof.Valida Ali-zadeh.
