Deputy Director for scientific affairs of the Institute of Erosion and Irrigation of ANAS, PhD in agricultural sciences Zakir Aliyev was awarded with "The best patriot researcher-scientist" golden medal by the decision of the "European publishing house" Award Commission for his achievements in preservation of national and spiritual values, education of the youth patriotism, for efficient operation in the training of young talented scientists, successful research work in improving the efficiency of land affected by salinity in Azerbaijan, the structural changes in the soil, the automatic control of irrigation as well as numerous scientific and journalistic publications and active participation in the reforms taking place in the country in the agricultural sector.
