Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Staff of Laboratory for genesis, geography and cartography of the Institute of Soil Elm and Agrochemistry of ANAS are on a scientific mission in Balakan district since September 9. Field research on the genesis, geography and cartography in Azerbaijani soil are carried out under the guidance of Academician Maharram Babayev.

The aim of the expedition, which will last 15 days, is defining of processes that occur in soils of the Great Caucasus within 40-50 years, clarifying the contours of soil types, bringing titles to meet the requirements of international standards, identifying changes that have occurred as a result of human impact, as well as the development of the system of agromeliorative complex events.

Remind that in previous years the expedition covered the territory from Sheki to Zagatala region.
