Azerbaijani scientist's report was of great interest in an international conference

"Caucasus as a hub between Eastern Europe and Western Asia: a dialogue of cultures, the culture of dialogue" international conference dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the famous archaeologist Alexander Miller was held in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia.

The international event, organized by the Institute of History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the State Hermitage Museum and the German Archaeological Institute, was attended by scientists and experts from Russia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Georgia and Moldova.

At the conference, Deputy Director for scientific affairs of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, PhD in history Najaf Museyibli spoke on "Communications in the Middle East and the Caucasus in IV millennium. BC. e. in the context of culture Leylatepe Maikop".

As part of the report N.Museyibli reported roots of Maikop culture, studied more than 100 years, and the origin of which is put forward different views, with culture Leylatepe circulated in the territory of Azerbaijan in IV millennium. BC. The scientist stressed that this judgment is based on incontrovertible archaeological evidence.

Despite the wide geographic range and a variety of themes of the listened reports, special attention was directed to the Maikop archaeological culture of the North Caucasus, its origins and history of the stages of development that are the object of study of a number of Russian and European scientists. It is no coincidence that as a symbol of the conference was elected precisely gold objects found in the Great Maikop mound. Therefore, the report by N.Museyibli aroused great interest of attendees of the conference.
