Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The “Academy faces” book which reflected the scientific biography of scientists who were active members, corresponding members and honorary members of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences of (ANAS) from the moment of its creation to the present day was published.

Published on the eve of ANAS 70th anniversary attracts the attention of a wider reader’s audience, this book has an exceptional significance. In the preface to the book, written by ANAS President, Academician Akif Alizadeh noted: “On every page of this book comes to life light-emitting personality of a prominent scientist who devoted his life to scientific work. They are - the great scientists, have indispensable services in the creation and development of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan - the temple of science towering on the strong foundation of our ancient and rich scientific heritage. Throughout his life and the activities these scientists are a shining example for the younger generation and along with it, they are individuals who left a deep imprint in people's memory. Years will pass, but the image of the brilliant scientists, each of which can be a model for the whole nation, will remain forever in the memory of people, will be a source of pride of our nation”

In the book are presented the biographies along with photos over 450 scientists.

At the same time, on the first page of the book is given Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the conduct of the 70th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences”.

The book, published by the Academy publishing house “Elm” (“Science”) in accordance with the decree of ANAS Presidium is presented to readers in Azerbaijani language.

Presumptive circulation of the book is 1000 copies, 500 of which had already been published.
