Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Science Development Foundation under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced  tender for main scientific-research programs in 2015.

The competition aims to stimulate scientific activities of research institutions, departments, centers and other research institutions, to improve their provision of modern scientific instruments and equipment, maintain the sustainable development of individual scientific fields and areas (in particular, multidisciplinary research), creating the conditions for achieving important and competitive research results, as well as providing training.

The financing structure of the project presented by integrated research programs by awarding grants to provide a large volume of financing (100 thous. - 500 thous. manat). In projects for scientists planned issuance of incentive wages, procurement of equipment and devices, as well as field trips.

The total amount of grant funding as part of the competition is 8 mln. manat.

When selecting projects on the basis of scientific expertise preference will be given projects in the direction of multidisciplinary studies and applied research, as well as joint projects of academic and educational institutions. Projects of young scientists and specialists from the regions, the implementation of which is planned in the framework of international cooperation, will also be at the center of attention.

The main priorities of the competition are: high energy physics; quantum calculations for different systems; scientific and technological research in the field of defense and security; space exploration, remote sensing of the Earth; information security; alternative energy sources; molecular genetic studies; agricultural biotechnologies, soil fertility and food security; study the roots and cells, gerontology; hydrophobic polymers and the study of new anti-bacterial properties; the study of chemical kinetics and catalysis; isotope geology and geochronology; Ideology Azerbaijanism: tradition and modernity; new history of independence; multiculturalism and religious values; the development of the vocabulary of Azerbaijani language; Study the Eastern written sources on the history of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus; Azerbaijani emigrant literature; model of economic development.

The work of scientific expertise of the competition will be made in the first quarter of 2016. During the time allotted for the reception of documents provided by the consultative workshops for grant applicants to help and answer their questions.
