Important steps are being taken in ANAS based on the tasks of the head of state concerning the Turkic world

One of the next issues discussed at the Presidium meeting of ANAS was the establishment of the Department of the History of Philosophical Thought and Modern Philosophy of Turkic Peoples at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS.

Speaking on the issue, Academician Isa Habibbeyli highlighted the importance of researching the history of philosophical thought of Turkic peoples, which possess a rich scientific and cultural heritage. He noted that studying this history, especially within the context of modern requirements, is crucial for forming the foundational principles of Turkic Unity. Studying the cultural and philosophical heritage of the Turkic World from past to present, and understanding the common thinking and thought processes is one of the essential factors. Additionally, the uniform formation of philosophical ideas of different thinkers of Turkic peoples is also relevant.

The head of ANAS emphasized that one of the crucial directions of state policy currently implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev is the development of political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and scientific relations with Turkic countries, having common ethnic-cultural values. The Academician said that the speech of President Ilham Aliyev in his inauguration ceremony: “We have no other family. Our family is the Turkic world”, and the recent Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Shusha as well as the signing of the historic "Karabakh Declaration" clearly demonstrates his attitude towards the Turkic World.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli mentioned that the head of state's speech outlined significant responsibilities for ANAS, as well as other academic, higher education, and field scientific institutions. To accomplish these goals, efforts are underway to enhance scientific collaboration between ANAS and institutions such as the International Turkic Academy, the Turkish Academy of Sciences, the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History, TUBITAK, and the Academies of Sciences of Central Asian Republics. These initiatives also involve conducting joint research and organizing scientific and organizational events.

“In this context, studying the history of philosophical thought among Turkic peoples, who have a rich scientific and cultural heritage, especially within the context of modern requirements, is of great importance in shaping the foundational principles of Turkic Unity. Studying the cultural and philosophical heritage of the Turkic World from past to present, and understanding the common thinking and thought processes is one of the essential factors. And the uniform formation of philosophical ideas of different thinkers of Turkic peoples is also relevant.   From this perspective, creating a Department of the History of Philosophical Thought and Modern Philosophy of Turkic peoples at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS at the expense of internal capabilities, is essential”-said the Academician.

Considering the discussions at the meeting, a decision was made to establish a Department of the History of Philosophical Thought and Modern Philosophy of Turkic peoples at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS.
