Aktoty Raimkulova: “Every effort made for the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world is an integral part of our common strategic partnership.”

The President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Aktoty Raimkulova, delivered a speech at the international symposium titled “Azerbaijan and Türkiye in World Politics,” jointly organized in Baku by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).

She emphasized that the symposium titled “Azerbaijan and Türkiye in World Politics,” organized on the basis of the shared history, culture, and strategic cooperation of the two brotherly countries, Azerbaijan and Türkiye, serves as an important platform for conducting joint scientific discussions and shaping our common future.

“As the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, our main goal is to preserve common values among Turkic peoples, to promote our rich scientific and cultural heritage, and to pass this heritage on to future generations.” –she underlined. According to Aktoty Raimkulova the Foundation was established in 2012 on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and with the support of the heads of state of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Türkiye. She emphasized that the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation attaches great importance to strengthening scientific and cultural integration among the brotherly countries.

Aktoty Raimkulova said that Azerbaijan and Türkiye are connected not only geographically but also spiritually and culturally. The strategic partnership between these two countries serves as an important example for the unity of the Turkic world.

She said that the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation closely cooperates with the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and its various institutes under the leadership of Academician Isa Habibbeyli. “As an example, we can mention the publication of Mahmud Kashgari’s “Diwan Lughat al-Turk”, in Azerbaijani, translated in the 1930s by the prominent Turkologist Khalid Said Khojaev, a manuscript that had long been considered lost, and the international conference held in December 2024 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris to mark the 950th anniversary of “Diwan Lughat al-Turk”, which is one of the most valuable treasures of the Turkic world and the world as a whole, and so on.”-she added.

Aktoty Raimkulova underlined that the Foundation is currently actively working together with ANAS to prepare for a symposium dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, to be held in Baku and is considered a significant event in the development of Turkology.

The President of the Foundation expressed her confidence that the international symposium would be a source of inspiration for new ideas, further strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish scholars, and contribute to strengthening the global cultural and political position of the Turkic world.  According to Aktoty Raimkulova bridges built through science can make political and economic cooperation stronger. She also emphasized that every effort made for the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world, including events like today’s symposium, is an integral part of our common strategic partnership.
