President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbeyli, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to Azerbaijan, Besart Kadia.
Speaking at the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli referred to the existing friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Albania. He emphasized that bilateral relations between the two countries are developing in various fields and noted that, within this framework, it would be appropriate to establish ties between the academies of sciences and academic institutions of Azerbaijan and Albania, as well as to sign a cooperation agreement in this direction.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Azerbaijan Besart Kadia stressed the importance of expanding the existing friendly relations between the two countries in the scientific and cultural sphere as well. Highlighting their strong interest in Azerbaijani science and culture, the Ambassador stated that cooperation between the academies would be beneficial for both sides.
During the meeting, it was decided to prepare the text of an inter-academy cooperation agreement and coordinate it with the parties.
Following the speeches, Academician Isa Habibbeyli presented the guest with a book dedicated to the history of Azerbaijan. The guests were introduced to the building of the Presidium of ANAS and were provided with detailed information about its history.
It should be noted that the meeting was also attended by diplomat of the Albanian Embassy Koçi Dorian; Head of the Department for Foreign Relations and Cooperation with International Scientific Organizations of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva; staff member of the same department Roya Safarova; and Head of the Public Relations, Press, and Information Department of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Philology Agahuseyn Shukurov.
