A presentation ceremony was held at the “Tusi” Publishing House of the Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) to showcase newly acquired printing equipment based on modern technologies.
According to the branch’s press service, cited by AzərTac’s regional correspondent, the event was attended by the Branch Chair, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev, ANAS President Academician Isa Habibbeyli, and the branch’s staff.
In his speech, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev noted that the Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS was established by the special decree of National Leader Heydar Aliyev on August 7, 2002, and began its activities in January 2003. He emphasized that the National Leader had deeply analyzed the strategic importance of the tasks set at the meeting dedicated to the establishment of the branch, and pointed out that since then, consistent and purposeful work has been carried out to implement the tasks related to the development of science assigned both by the National Leader and by President Ilham Aliyev.
Academician Hajiyev also highlighted that the “Tusi” Publishing House has been operational since 2005 and that the first issue of the journal “Scientific Works,” the Nakhchivan Branch’s first scientific publication, was printed there. In subsequent years, the branch’s scientific journals, annual reports, bibliographic indicators, and other scientific publications were produced at “Tusi.” He stressed that the newly acquired equipment significantly strengthens the material and technical base of the publishing house, with the main goal being the effective and purposeful use of these resources to further improve the quality of scientific publications.
Academician Hajiyev expressed gratitude on his own behalf and on behalf of the branch’s staff for the attention and support shown to the Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS.
ANAS President Academician Isa Habibbeyli congratulated the Nakhchivan Branch staff and the publishing house team on the modernization of the collotype base at “Tusi” Publishing House using the latest technologies. He recalled that in his speech at ANAS’s 80th anniversary on November 3 of last year, as well as in his interview with local television channels on January 5 this year, President Ilham Aliyev identified the development of Azerbaijani science as one of the country’s future priority directions.
Academician Habibbeyli noted that reforms at the academy, particularly in electronic and digital transformation, have entered a new phase. In this regard, equipping the “Tusi” Publishing House at ANAS’s Nakhchivan Branch with new printing equipment is an important step for the development of digital science and for implementing the tasks set by the Head of State. He also emphasized that the Nakhchivan Branch has significant scientific potential and ranks among the leaders in per capita scientific publications.
Isa Habibbeyli added that the new equipment has advanced printing capabilities and that these technologies will not only improve the printing process but also enhance the quality of scientific research, invigorate the scientific environment in Nakhchivan, and provide a substantial stimulus for the overall development of the academy.
Publishing house staff member Qafar Ganbarov provided information about the new equipment and expressed gratitude for the support shown.
Professor Abulfaz Guliyev, Director of the Institute of Arts, Language, and Literature at ANAS’s Nakhchivan Branch and a corresponding member of the academy, stated that the newly acquired equipment would serve as an important stimulus for the development of science. He also emphasized that the branch’s team will continue to fulfill the tasks assigned in line with the Azerbaijani President’s directives on science.
The presentation ceremony continued with participants closely examining the new equipment and observing demonstrations of the publishing house’s technical capabilities.
