At a meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, the issue of approving the Action Plan of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences related to the implementation of the Presidential Order dated January 28, 2026, “On the Celebration of the 900th Anniversary of the Great Azerbaijani Poet Khagani Shirvani,” was considered.

The Action Plan includes the organization of conferences, scientific sessions, and round tables on the following topics: “The Literary and Artistic Features of Khagani Shirvani’s Poetry and Its Place in Azerbaijani and Eastern Literature,” “The World of Ideals, Art and Craftsmanship of Khagani Shirvani,” “Secularism in Khagani Shirvani’s Poetry,” “Khagani Shirvani 900 – Predecessors and Successors: Medieval Manuscripts and Historical Problems of Azerbaijani Culture,” “Khagani Shirvani in the Context of Azerbaijani and Eastern Folklore,” “The Sovereign of the Realm of Words,” “Khagani Shirvani and the Socio-Cultural Environment of the 12th Century,” “Philosophical Consciousness and Poetry,” “A Prominent Figure of Classical Azerbaijani Literature: Khagani Shirvani,” “Nizami Ganjavi and Khagani Shirvani,” “The Sun of Classical Poetry Rising from Shamakhi: Afzaladdin Khagani,” and “Khagani Shirvani and Renaissance Processes in Azerbaijani Literature.” It also provides for the publication of the monograph “The Craftsmanship of Khagani Shirvani,” the preparation for publication of philological translations of Khagani Shirvani’s ghazals and qasidas, the compilation of a bibliographic index dedicated to the poet’s life and work, as well as the organization of traditional and virtual exhibitions.

Following discussions, the Presidium approved the ANAS Action Plan related to the 900th anniversary of Khagani Shirvani.
