Employee of ANAS <a class="link" target=_blank href=http://www.science.gov.az/en/geology/index.htm>Institute of Geology</a> PhD in geology-mineralogy <a class="link" target=_blank href=http://science.gov.az/en/presidium/sections32.htm>Gulam Babayev</a> has been appointed the head of <a class="link" target=_blank href=http://www.science.gov.az/en/presidium/sections9.htm>International Relations Office</a> of ANAS Central Administration of the Presidium.
Gulam Rustam oglu Babayev was born in Baku in 1974. Graduated from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy department of “Prospecting mineral deposits and geophysical methods of exploration” in 1996.
Began for academic activity in 2002 as a senior scientific worker at Institute of Geology laboratory of “Investigation of earthquakes’ zone of fires”, he studied at intramural department of post graduate school in 1998-2002.
In 2005 defended PhD thesis over “Prospecting mineral deposits and geophysical methods of exploration” on topic “Seismic risk estimation of Baku city” and earned PhD title on geology-mineralogy. More than 50 academic works (paper, thesis, methodic work) have been published on the local and foreign prestigious journals.
G. Babayev probated at the training centers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Italy, France, Austria, Turkey, Australia, Germany, Japan and Switzerland.
Worked the chairman of Young Scholars’ Council of the Instiute of Geology since 2005.
He was one of the most active researchers of grant by Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan Republic on “Microseismic zoning of the territory of Baku city based on of microtromer data size” (2011-2013). Scientist is one of the main performers of researches conducted by BP and SOCAR.
In 2010 G. Babayev was appointed General Secretary of the National Committee of Geodesy and Geophysics International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics, created by NASA, and the deputy head of the National Data Centre of Azerbaijan for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, whose headquarters is located in Vienna (Austria).
