Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

During his visit to China to participate in the International Conference on Talent Exchange, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbeyli, met with the President of the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Lv Xinbin, in Shijiazhuang.

Welcoming the delegation, Professor Lv Xinbin noted that, thanks to the close attention and political will of the Heads of State of China and Azerbaijan, bilateral cooperation has been steadily expanding across all fields. He particularly emphasized that Azerbaijan was among the first countries to support China's Belt and Road Initiative on the international stage.

Professor Lv Xinbin also stressed that scientific cooperation between the two countries has been developing successfully in recent years. Referring to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 2024, he noted that cooperation has been expanding across various fields of research in accordance with the provisions of the agreement.

In his remarks, Academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that, owing to the political will of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and China, bilateral relations have been developing successfully in all areas, including science. He emphasized the steady progress of scientific cooperation between ANAS and the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences and presented proposals on several new joint projects planned for implementation.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli informed the participants about the project “The Theme and Archetypes of China in Azerbaijani Literature,” currently being implemented at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS. He also proposed launching joint research on the topic “Dialogue between Science and Cultures within the Framework of the Belt and Road Initiative,” emphasizing the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two scientific institutions.

During the meeting, Academician Isa Habibbeyli presented Professor Lv Xinbin with a painting inspired by the Chinese motifs in Nizami Ganjavi's poem “The Seven Beauties.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties exchanged newly published scientific publications and commemorative gifts.

The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Hebei Academy of Social Sciences; Agshin Aliyev, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language at Beijing Foreign Studies University, PhD in Philology; Professor Qi Xiaoyan, Dean of the Faculty of International Cultural Exchange at Hebei Normal University, President of the Hebei International Talent Exchange Association, Doctor of History; as well as other scholars.
