A presentation of the book “Nə yaxşı ki, Atam sənsən...” authored by Jale Jafarova, daughter of prominent poet, journalist, and writer Javad Javadli, was held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the prominent writer.

Speaking at the event, President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, noted that the publication dedicated to the 100th anniversary of writer-publicist Javad Javadli is not merely an expression of a daughter’s respect for her father, but also a manifestation of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia’s deep respect for the literary and artistic heritage of the people as a whole. Emphasizing the significance of the book authored and compiled by Jale Jafarova, Academician Isa Habibbeyli stressed that the work truthfully reflects the personality of Javad Javadli, his commitment to truth, and his sincerity.

He stated that the book sheds light from various perspectives on the eventful life, rich creative legacy, and multifaceted public activity of writer-publicist and poet Javad Javadli. The head of ANAS also noted that the publication contains selections from the poet’s journalistic legacy, recollections of his contemporaries and fellow writers, scholarly analyses by prominent scholars, heartfelt words from his relatives, as well as a photographic chronicle reflecting the writer’s life.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli described the publication as a valuable source for conveying the poet’s rich spiritual heritage, civic position, literary identity, and greatness as a human being to future generations.

The head of ANAS recalled that Jale Jafarova’s important contributions, including her previously published fundamental book on prominent artist Ibrahim Safarov, have always been in the spotlight. He noted that today’s book presentation stood out for its particular sincerity, naturalness, and high level. He emphasized that the participation of guests from the Republic of Türkiye in the event contributes to further strengthening the cultural and friendly ties between the two countries.

Then, Akif Imanli, Chief Researcher at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, Professor, delivered a speech and shared his valuable views on the life and creative work of prominent poet, journalist, and writer Javad Javadli, as well as the recollections collected about him.

Professor Akif Imanli noted that the book brings together the views of most of Azerbaijan’s prominent intellectuals about Javad Javadli. Drawing attention to the article by Academician Isa Habibbeyli about writer-publicist Javad Javadli included in the book, he emphasized that this study is of exceptional importance in terms of providing an in-depth analysis and assessment of the poet’s literary legacy from the perspective of contemporary scholarship. He noted that the poet’s life is clearly examined in the article and his creative work is analyzed comprehensively.

Akif Imanli also spoke about the years of his acquaintance with Javad Javadli and the unforgettable meetings he had with the poet.

A documentary film about the rich life, creative work, and spiritual heritage of prominent writer Javad Javadli was then screened.

Guests from Türkiye – poet-publicist Cahit Günay and speaker, writer, and voice-over artist Arzu Yılmaz Dağdemir – also addressed the event, expressing their pleasure at being in Azerbaijan and speaking about the development of cultural relations between the two countries. The guests emphasized that the legacy of Javad Javadli is of great spiritual value to the Turkic world as a whole and recited poems from the poet’s creative works.

Translator, museologist, and PhD in Philology Mahabbat Mehdiyeva emphasized that Javad Javadli was a person of profound intellect and a sensitive spirit. She stated that after reading the book, she had come to know Javad Javadli’s personality and creative work from an entirely new perspective and in greater depth. Mahabbat Mehdiyeva noted that the publication presented to the public is not merely a book, but also a remarkable expression of the author’s boundless filial love and respect for her father.

Later, the author of the book, Jale Jafarova, spoke about her memories of her father, Javad Javadli, his humane character, and his creative journey. She expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to bringing the event to fruition.

At the end, a book-signing ceremony for “Nə yaxşı ki, Atam sənsən...” was held.
