Organized students’ excursion to the Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve and museum of open-air rock paintings

Councils of the Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography and National Museum of Azerbaijan History joint with Surakhani district secondary school No 270 on behalf E.Garanzadeh has organized an excursion for students under the motto “We study our cultural heritage”.

Taking into account features of the event, Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve and museum of open-air rock paintings were elected as a territory.

Council Chairman of the Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institutes of Archaeology, PhD in History Bakhtiyar Jalilov and Council Chairman of the Young Scientists and Specialists of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History PhD in History Bahman Karimov informed the 150 students who participating the event on the works done by scientific ventures and organizations of ANAS in study and protection of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.

Later on, students were familiar with the museum of Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve, equipped with modern innovative technologies, and gained broad information about ancient cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.

Being acquainted with Museum of open-air rock paintings in Gobustan as well as ancient cultural-material patterns of history, made good impression on students.

Members of Councils of Young Scientists and Specialists responded the students’ questions.

Note that, such educative events aimed to promote and popularize science are being realized within the project under Action Plan of ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists for 2016.
