Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Institute of History, correspondent member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov hosted a meeting with students of secondary schools on "Let us lay claim to our historical figures"as part of the Second Festival of Science of Azerbaijan on October 31.

Students first familiarized with the exhibition of scientific achievements of the Institute, who took part in the Festival of Science. The exhibition also demonstrates the handicrafts school, announced the winners of the project "Let's reclaim their rights for our historical identity".

Speaking at the event, historian Y. Mahmudov told about the history of Azerbaijani statehood and historical figures. It was noted that, the people of Azerbaijan has ancient traditions of statehood.

Our people who created the powerful states during various periods of history celebrate the 25 anniversary of recovery of independent statehood today. He emphasized that, thanks to efforts of the national leader Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan recovered the state independence at the end of the XX century. As a result of its purposeful cabals independent and democratic Azerbaijan surely moves ahead on the way of successful development. Now Mister President Ilham Aliyev has invaluable merits in development and strengthening of the state from the political, economic, cultural, scientific point of view.

Note that, in the framework of the project "Let's reclaim their rights for our historical personality" held a series of meetings with the participation of Yagub Mahmudov and historians in secondary schools of Baku.
