Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Science History Institute of ANAS Dr. History Maryam Seyidbeyli attended the international conference “Global science and international cooperation”, which held in Saint Petersburg, Russia on October 23 – 28, 2016.

Azerbaijani scientist presented a lecture on “The Poles in Azerbaijan: History and modernity”. The report aroused great interest among the participants of the meeting.

During the visit, Maryam Seyidbeyli visited Saint-Petersburg Branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the libraries and archives of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts were obtained valuable material on the history of Azerbaijan science.

M.Seyidbeyli exchanged views on joint cooperation with the Director of the Federal Agency of scientific organizations of the Institute of History RAS, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nikolai Smirnov, head department of the same institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences Alexander Chistikov and director of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Natural Science and History of Technology named after S. I.Vavilov RAS, PhD in Sociological sciences Nadezhda Ashuelova.

As part of the mission Azerbaijani scientist also met with director of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts Irina Popova. At the meeting it was decided to sign an agreement on cooperation between the two structures.
