Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On February 8 at Hilton hotel held the conference devoted to the results of 2013 which was declared Year of ICT in Azerbaijan.

During the event, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology were announced orders of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on awarding employees information and communication sector and space industry in Azerbaijan medal “Tereggi” and assigning a number of industry employees honorary title of “Distinguished Engineer” for merits in development of communications and Information Technology.

Next MCIT presented a documentary dedicated to the year. Academician Ali Abbasov told the audience about the progress made during this time, emphasizing the development of public e-services portal.

In 2014 further development of this direction, and also growth of the healthy competition in the market, increase of a role of education in the ICT sphere, simplification of a number of the state services for the companies from ICT sector, growth of capital investments in branch, development of the broadband Internet, allocation of grants and the credits on the best conditions, etc. is expected.
