Winter starts in Baku time 14:44 on December 21. On this day the Earth will pass through the point of the winter solstice, after which in the northern hemisphere will be experienced winter.

According to the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory a few days after the passage of the Earth through the point of the winter solstice, the days become longer and the nights shorter.

A characteristic feature of the winter solstice is the fact that on this day there is the shortest day and the longest night.

Today night will last for 14 hours and 43 minutes, and the day - 9 hours 17 minutes.
